Our Story

On June 1, 1991, Pastor Gerald Wolscon, better known as Pastor Jerry, founded Church on the Rock-NHV, a full gospel, multi-cultural church under the spiritual covering of Church on the Rock International. Pastor Jerry pastored COTR-New Haven for 3 years before taking on his next God-given assignment to plant COTR- San Antonio Texas and minister internationally.   Before Pastor Jerry’s departure, he appointed Todd and Leslie Foster to succeed him as senior pastors.  Pastors Todd and Leslie faithfully served COTR for 27 years as senior pastors, and in December 2018 retired from full-time ministry, passing the torch to Jason & Asia Goubourn.

Pastors Jason and Asia Goubourn have been longtime members of COTR since 2004. They served the youth ministry from 2004- 2018. In addition to youth ministry, Pastor Jason was a full time Associate Pastor and served as Praise & Worship. Worship Pastor from 2010-2018 until being called to his position as lead pastor. In 2019 Pastor Asia joined Pastor Jason in full time ministry. They now serve together as full time staff members of COTR.

In 2020, God gave Pastor Jason the vision of COTR Global and COTR Global Christian Academy. COTR Global is the worldwide expansion of the ministry of Church on the Rock Inc. in which we endeavor to engage, equip, empower and encourage nations around the world to make disciples and spread the gospel.
COTR Global has campuses in Pakistan-South Asia, and Liberia-West Africa. Currently, we are looking forward to opening our second US COTR campus in Stamford, CT in the future.
